The Forgex Experience

On-site or workshop restoration? Read the following steps to understand our process.

We offer two types of restoration:

  • On-site restoration with mechanical tools by teams who come directly to your building
  • Workshop restoration performed by “Sandblast”

Which one should you choose?

The analysis

If your structures are highly ornamental and have significant patrimonial value, there is a high chance that workshop restoration will be necessary. Other criteria to be evaluated include:

  • Ease of transportation
  • Your expectations regarding the finish
  • City requirements (patrimonial sector)
  • Budget

Deep sanding

There is a significant difference between workshop restoration and on-site restoration. On-site, we grind and remove rust from accessible areas. Some of the existing paint in good condition will be preserved. Therefore, the finish will not be perfect as if it were new, but it will give your structures a new lease on life. In the workshop, we use “sandblasting” to remove all traces of rust and paint. The advantage is starting completely anew with epoxy and two-component polyurethane products.

Cleaning

The cleaning is done with different products depending on the type of restoration. This step ensures a clean and impurity-free surface.

Paint application

We use different products on-site and in the workshop due to the preparation methods that are not the same. The products used are the result of extensive research, trials and errors. They are the optimal choices to extend the lifespan of your structures.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions, about restoration, from our clients. Looking forward to helping you with your project !

Unfortunately, we do not perform restoration directly inside your property, due to the fire risks associated with sparks from grinding and welding. However, we can still offer sandblasting restoration at our workshop.

Yes, indeed. If you wish to restore your railings, it is possible to do it in the workshop. We also perform sandblasting, which is a sand jet restoration method. When your railings have a lot of ornamentation or you want the best finish possible, this method is the most effective.

Obviously, this question is not easy to answer without first evaluating its condition. Contact us with photos, and we can guide you toward the best option.
